What We Will Not Do
Most of the houses we work on around here went up between 1957 and 1980, with the median landing around 1975. That means a lot of original torsion springs, steel tracks, and openers that have outlived their manuals. We don't touch electrical panel work or structural framing, if your header is sagging or the opening itself needs to be rebuilt, that's a job for a licensed contractor, and we'll tell you so instead of taking the call anyway. We also won't sell you a new opener when a $40 sensor or a bent track is the actual problem. If a spring job on an older double door turns out to need the whole assembly replaced because the drums are worn past matching, we'll show you why before we do it, not after. We don't do same-day installs on custom sizes, special-order panels take longer than a stock door, and we're not going to promise a date we can't hit. And we don't guess at pricing over text with no model number or photo; a torsion spring on a 1970s door and one on a newer insulated door are different jobs with different parts. If your problem is outside garage doors, think fencing, gate motors, general handyman work, we'll say that plainly instead of stretching the job to fit.

What Happens After You Call
We ask a few questions on the phone to figure out what's likely wrong and what parts to bring, since a torsion spring replacement and a roller swap don't call for the same truck stock. Once we're at the house, we look at the door itself before touching anything, springs, cables, rollers, track alignment, and the opener's force settings all get checked, because a door that looks like a spring problem is sometimes a track that's pulled loose from the jamb. We'll tell you what we find and what it costs before starting, not after. On older doors, and there are plenty from the 1960s and 70s in the areas we cover, some original parts aren't stocked anymore, so a repair sometimes turns into a conversation about whether replacement makes more sense than chasing discontinued hardware. Do you work on garage doors outside Morgan Hill?

My house is from the 1960s, will parts even be available?
